Glenna Marshall is married to her pastor, William, and is the mother of two sons, Isaiah and Ian. She grew up in Tennessee but lives in southern Missouri where her husband has pastored their church for over twenty years. Glenna studied creative writing at Union University, graduating with a B.A. in Creative Writing in 2003. She is the author of six books and travels extensively to speak at women’s retreats and conferences.
Much of Glenna’s writing deals with spiritual disciplines as the means by which we grow in the faith and endure suffering. No stranger to trials, she shares openly in her books about her long history with infertility and a rare chronic pain disease. Whether you’re reading her blog posts or books, articles or social media posts, you’ll find that Glenna’s deepest desire is to direct her readers to deep study of Scripture. Bible study changed her life, and she is certain that, with the right tools, it can change yours.
Besides writing and speaking, Glenna fills her time with reading fiction, enjoying family walks and game nights, serving in her local church, leading a small women’s Bible study in her home, discipling teen girls, cooking, and playing the piano. She loves strong coffee (with just a touch of cream!), one-on-one conversations, and going to bed early.
Glenna is a member of Grace Bible Fellowship, a church with a unique story and a deep love for the West End of Sikeston, Missouri, where they have built phase one of Grace Community Center. You can read more about the church here.
You can connect with Glenna on Facebook and Instagram, but be sure to sign up for her monthly “Off the Record” newsletter where she shares book reviews, music, a devotional, writing and life updates, and a whole lot more. You’ll learn a whole lot more from her newsletter than her social media accounts.
